Imani Sawyer, LCSWA
Hello! My name is Imani Sawyer (she/her) and I am passionate about creating a safe, affirming, and collaborative space where you feel heard, valued, and empowered.
Therapy is not about fixing who you are, but rediscovering the strength, clarity, and wholeness already within you. My commitment to this work comes from a deep belief that healing happens when we have the support to explore our stories, understand our patterns, and reconnect with our strengths. I meet clients exactly where they are, honoring their lived experiences and partnering with them to set meaningful goals that guide their growth. Using a compassionate, strengths-based, and trauma-informed approach, I support individuals and families in building healthier relationships, navigating life's challenges, and cultivating lasting change.
I am a Charlotte native with over 10 years of experience supporting children, adults, and families across clinical and child welfare settings. Outside the therapy room, I find joy in art, music, and discovering good eats around the city. As a mother, I understand the importance of balance, grace, and showing up fully for the people we love. I believe humor is a powerful part of healing, and I bring a warm, down-to-earth energy to the therapeutic space.
Imani earned her Master of Social Work from Winthrop University and her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from North Carolina Central University. She has extensive professional experience with Mecklenburg County Youth & Family Services and brings a decade of clinical and child welfare expertise to her work. Imani provides trauma-informed care for children, adults, and families, offering both in-person and virtual services.
