Child & teen therapy
Children and teens experience real distress — and they often don't have the words for it yet. Effective therapy with young people starts by meeting them where they are: at their developmental stage, in their language, and at their pace. We don't just talk. We play, create, explore, and build skills in ways that actually fit how young people think and feel.
Our therapists who work with children and teens are trained in developmentally informed, evidence-based approaches. We're affirming of all identities — including LGBTQIA+ youth — and we work alongside parents and caregivers as partners in the process.
What brings families in
- Anxiety, worry, and school-related stress
- Depression, low mood, and social withdrawal
- Trauma and adverse childhood experiences
- Behavioral and emotional regulation difficulties
- Grief, loss, and family transitions — divorce, moves, illness
- Peer relationships and social challenges
- Identity, self-worth, and LGBTQIA+ affirmation
- Neurodivergence — ADHD, autism, and sensory needs
How we work
For younger children, we use play therapy, sandtray, and expressive approaches that let kids process without relying on words. For teens, we balance collaboration and conversation with concrete skills work — DBT, CBT, and trauma-focused approaches. Where trauma is involved, our therapists are certified in TF-CBT and EMDR. Parents and caregivers are kept informed in ways that support the work without compromising the trust therapy requires.
