Couples therapy
Couples therapy at Caladrius is not about assigning fault or fixing the other person. It is about understanding the patterns that keep pulling you apart — and building the capacity to move toward each other instead. Many couples come to us stuck in cycles that feel impossible to break. Others want a stronger foundation before a major life step.
We work with couples across all stages and structures: dating, engaged, married, cohabitating, blended families, LGBTQIA+ couples, and consensually non-monogamous relationships.
What couples therapy can help with
- Communication breakdowns and recurring conflict
- Trust, infidelity, and repair after rupture
- Emotional disconnection, resentment, or chronic tension
- Parenting stress, role strain, and division of labor
- Life transitions — new parenthood, relocation, illness, career changes
- Premarital preparation and values alignment
- Support for non-traditional relationship structures
- Intimacy concerns, including desire differences and intimacy after trauma
How we work
Our therapists are trained in the Gottman Method, Sage Couples Counseling, and Prepare + Enrich, and draw from structural and attachment-based frameworks as needed. They fit the approach to your relationship — not the other way around. Sessions are trauma-aware and designed so that both partners feel genuinely heard, including in relationships with diverse structures or kink-affirming needs.
