  • Partners Behavioral Health
  • Trillium
  • United Healthcare
  • United Healthcare Community
  • WellcareIf you have a Wellcare of North Carolina plan, your coverage is transitioning to Carolina Complete Health — which we also accept. Your benefits continue uninterrupted.

Note on couples therapy: Couples therapy may not be covered in-network under all plans. Please call or message us for a free consultation to confirm coverage before your first session.

Out-of-network insurance benefits

We work with most insurance plans as an out-of-network provider. Depending on your plan, you may be reimbursed for part or all of your session cost. To make things easier, we can submit claims on your behalf or provide superbills for self-submission. If you have questions, we're always happy to help you navigate the process.

Standard session rates

  • Initial clinical evaluation$200
  • Individual 50–60 minute session$185
  • Individual 45 minute session$165
  • Individual 30 minute session$130
  • Couples therapy 60 minute session$185
  • Group therapy session$60

Many of our clients only pay a copay — or nothing at all — when using insurance. Session fees are also eligible for payment with FSA and HSA funds.

Income-based rates

We believe cost should not be a barrier to care. Each of our full-time therapists holds one reduced-fee slot per week, priced at 10% of your weekly income for a one-hour session (proof of income required, no minimum fee). We also work with intern therapists — graduate-level clinicians completing their supervised training with our practice — who offer sessions at a reduced rate. If you’d like to learn more about either option or check on current availability, please reach out by phone or email.

Self-pay

There are real reasons some clients choose to pay out of pocket even when they have coverage. Using insurance requires a mental health diagnosis on your permanent health record, limits your choice of provider and session length, and gives your insurer the right to request your records at any point. Self-pay means a private conversation between you and your therapist — no required diagnosis, no restrictions on format or frequency, and the same straightforward rate every time. For clients on high-deductible plans especially, the cost difference is often smaller than people expect.

We go deeper on this on the blog.

Good Faith Estimate

If you are uninsured or choose not to use insurance, you have the right to a written Good Faith Estimate of expected charges before beginning services under the federal No Surprises Act. See our Good Faith Estimate page for the full notice, including how to request an estimate and what to do if your bill exceeds it.
