Hi! My name is Bonnie (she/her) and I am passionate about fostering hope and resilience through compassionate, collaborative therapy.
I see our work together as a partnership where you feel seen, heard, and empowered to create meaningful change. My background as a peer support specialist allows me to bring lived experience to my clinical work, and I strive to create a safe, affirming space for all clients, including those in LGBTQIA+, kink, and poly communities. Inspired by the empathy of Deanna Troi from Star Trek: The Next Generation, I believe deeply in the power of connection and understanding to support healing and growth.
I enjoy working with adults navigating depression, anxiety, trauma, perinatal mental health challenges, life transitions, and parenting struggles. I operate through a trauma-informed, strengths-based lens and integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and advanced training in Perinatal Mental Health Disorders, always grounded in the principles of mutual empowerment.
A Charlotte native, I am a double graduate of UNC Charlotte with a B.A. in Psychology and a Master’s in Social Work. Outside of the office, I am a proud mom in a blended family of five kids, and I love dancing in my kitchen and finding inspiration at our local libraries.
Bonnie Anderson, MSW, LCSWA, earned her B.A. in Psychology (2003) and M.S.W. (2024) from UNC Charlotte. She has additional training in Perinatal Mental Health Disorders and a strong foundation in peer support practices.
